Learn the art and science of colourwork while making these super soft and beautiful mittens. The pattern has a few lovely techniques that you will love learning. The beautiful classic snowflake motif is great with 2 contrasting colours of yarn.
Skill Level: Proficient Beginner
This class is ideal if you’ve already completed standard patterns and several projects of increasing complexity. It’s perfect for learning new techniques such as:
- colourwork tips and tricks, catching floats and colour dominance
- working in the round
- corrugated ribbing
- afterthought thumb
Pattern Provided:
- Hanne pattern, by Amy Christoffers is included in your class fee and will be attached to your ravelry account when you come in to pick up the printed pattern and purchase your materials.
Recommended Supplies:
- Aran/worsted weight yarn to reach gauge:
- Highland alpaca worsted and or tweed
- Haynes Creek Aran 100% wool
- Briggs and Little Heritage 100% wool
- Cascade 220 Worsted 100% wool
- Malabrigo Rio/Have You Any Wool-worsted weight yarn
- ChiaoGoo or KnitPro needles in sizes 3.25mm & 3.75mm either 6" double pointed needles or 32" fixed "if you are comfortable doing the magic loop method)
- Notions:
- Stitch markers & holder (or spare yarn)
- Darning needle
Class Notes:
- ALL of our classes are IN PERSON only.
- Preparation: Be sure to come prepared and ready to start the class when you arrive. Use the attached class prep checklist to be ready to get the absolute most out of your class at Three Bags Full.
- Evening Classes: If the class is held in the evening, note that the shop closes at 5:00 PM. Someone will be there 10 minutes before class starts to open up for the evening.
