Learn to Knit with Jenn: 4 weeks

Learn the basics of knitting while creating a simple coaster or dishcloth. Then, for the second project in this four week class you will learn circular knitting to make a Mug Hug Cozy. With clear, step-by-step guidance from an experienced instructor, you'll build confidence and quickly be ready to move on to increase your skill level.

Discover how to:

• Hold knitting needles and yarn comfortably
• Master basic stitches: cast on, knit, purl, etc
• Maintain even tension
• Use Circular Needles with a Magic Loop

Skill Level: Beginner

Perfect for those who have never done this craft before.

Patterns Included:

• Dishcloth/Coaster: Pattern Included.
• Mug Hug Cozy: Pattern Included.

Materials Needed:

Needles:

• 5.0 mm knitting needles, circular, 40" cord length

Dishcloth:

• 50g cotton yarn

Coaster:

• 50g worsted weight yarn (wool preferred)

Mug Hug (Cozy):

• 50g worsted weight yarn (wool preferred)

Darning needle

Recommended Supplies:

• Dishcloth: Sudz Cotton
• Coaster and Mug Hug: Briggs & Little Heritage, Cascade 220, Gathering Yarns Haynes Creek Aran
• Knitting Needles: Chiaogoo or KnitPro Dreamz (interchangeable with metal core cord)

• Preparation: Be sure to come prepared and ready to start the class when you arrive. If you'd like help with yarn selection and supplies, drop by the shop in advance, and we'll be happy to assist.
• Evening Classes: If the class is held in the evening, note that the shop closes at 5:00 PM. Someone will be there ~10 minutes before class starts to open up for the evening.
