Choose your own Adventure Hat with Jenn: 2 Weeks

Unlock the secrets to a perfectly fit hat in this practical, skill building class. Learn how to confidently adjust any hat pattern based on size and yarn weight. Ideal for knitters who want to move beyond the pattern and create hats that truly fit - every time. You will also be able to make a toque without a pattern and create your own plan!

Choosing appropriate yarn will be part of the first class. Students should bring any needles they have and plan to purchase yarn and possibly a new needle size (if needed) at the beginning of the first class. Students may also bring yarn from home. 

Skill Level: Proficient Beginner

You can follow standard patterns and have done several projects with increasing complexity

Skills to be Learned: stretchy cast on, bespoke hat construction, how to get a perfect fit, decreasing options for shaping, and adapting hat patterns

Required Materials:

• as a "Choose your Adventure" hat, you will be picking yarn etc to make your hat in 2 weeks. We would recommend at least a 3-DK or above in order to get through the class with a finished hat :)

Recommended Supplies:

• Vintage or Estelle Worsted-wool blend & Cascade 220 superwash-to make your hat washable
• Cascade 220, Highland Alpaca or Haynes Creek -all are 100% wool. 
• Malabrigo Rios
• Tapestry needle
• Pompom

Class Notes:

• ALL of our classes are IN PERSON only.
• Preparation: Be sure to come prepared and ready to start the class when you arrive. Use the attached class prep checklist to be ready to get the absolute most out of your class at Three Bags Full.
• Evening Classes: If the class is held in the evening, note that the shop closes at 5:00 PM. Someone will be there ~10 minutes before class starts to open up for the evening
