Colourwork sweater knitting
The Moraine sweater was published in 2018 and was an immediate cast on for many. It remains a fun and very satisfying project to learn. From reading charts for colourwork to keeping an even tension, you get LOTS of practice and the end result is a beautiful garment.
Skill Level: Proficient Beginner
This class is ideal if you’ve already completed standard patterns and several projects of increasing complexity. It’s perfect for learning new techniques such as:
- colourwork
- top down construction
- working in the round
Pattern Provided:
- Moraine pattern, by Tin Can Knits is included in your class fee and will be attached to your ravelry account when you come in to pick up the printed pattern and purchase your materials.
Recommended Supplies:
- Aran/worsted weight yarn to reach gauge, one main colour and 2 contrasting colours
- Highland alpaca worsted and or tweed
- Haynes Creek Aran 100% wool
- Briggs and Little Heritage or MacAuslands 100% wool
- Cascade 220 Worsted 100% wool
- Notions/Needles:
- 3.75mm & 5.0mm needles
- Stitch markers & holder
- Darning needle
- Barber cord-to try on sweater as you knit
Class Notes:
- ALL of our classes are IN PERSON only.
- Preparation: Be sure to come prepared and ready to start the class when you arrive. Use the attached class prep checklist to be ready to get the absolute most out of your class at Three Bags Full.
- Evening Classes: If the class is held in the evening, note that the shop closes at 5:00 PM. Someone will be there 10 minutes before class starts to open up for the evening.
